Our laboratory was founded on October 10, 2016, and it is located at Ponta Grossa State University (Ponta Grossa, Parana, Brazil). “Chromosome Biology: Structure and Function” Lab aims to generate and spread scientific knowledge, concerning cytogenetics and animal genomics. The leaders, professors PhD Marcelo Ricardo Vicari and PhD Viviane Nogaroto, have wide experience in cytogenetics and molecular biology. We use genomic tools to understand and characterize genes involved with sex differentiation in Parodontidae fishes, beyond we analyze sequences presented in evolutionary breakpoints regions. The CBSF team also includes Science Initiation students and Graduate students (master, PhD and post-docs) that are linked to Ponta Grossa State University and Parana Federal University Genetics post graduation.
