Our laboratory was founded on October 10th, 2016, and is located at Ponta Grossa State University (Ponta Grossa, Parana, Brazil). “Chromosome Biology: Structure and Function” Lab aims to generate and spread scientific knowledge, concerning cytogenetics and animal genomics. The leaders, professor Dr. Marcelo Ricardo Vicari and Dra. Viviane Nogaroto, have wide experience in cytogenetics and molecular biology. We use genomic tools to understand and characterize genes involved with sex differentiation in Parodontidae fishes, beyond we analyze sequences presented in chromosome breakpoints fragile sites. The CBSF team also includes Undergraduated students and Graduate students (master, PhD and post-docs) from Ponta Grossa State University Evolutive Biology post graduation and Paraná Federal University Genetics post graduation.
